Alice Cooper - The Rock Shock Sex Show is still an electrifiing event
Indeed Alice Cooper is one of the real big Superstars of today and the past in the music business.
Since more than 30 years the master of Shock Rock rules the scene on the world stages and has shown his musical skill with all his superior records, which includes such millionsellers as School's Out, You And Me or Poison.
Since the early seventies Cooper was one of the guys you haven't to ask twice to try something new in a technical possibility. So Billion Dollar Babies 1973 was one of the rare records, which was also available in Quattrophonie.
Cooper was the one, that broke up all those doors, which are today seen as self-evident, but weren't without him or would have become much later.
In 1973 he produced the so to say first videoclip with pictures, that didn't show the making of the music but other things.
He was also the first musician that put forward with shocking stage shows, a female pseudonym, long hair and jewelry overloaded hands, documenting the latent bi sexuality.
The first multi-storey stage buildings we have to count also to his accounts, as well as the first lightshow and also the first lasershow in 73 on the Billion Dollar Babies Tour.
Not until the early 80's other bands start to use laser equipment on the stage shows, but Alice Cooper used this feature just in the 73 tour and after this tour he was looking for new stage things.
Only the gigant band Pink Floyd used a laser show on their The Wall Tour in 1978.
Preparing for the Welcome To My Nightmare Tour Alice Cooper took lessons in dancing by no other than Fred Astaire himself. And Mr. Astaire was taken with Alice Cooper.
The good friends of Alice Cooper were, you wouldn't believe this, big stars from the showbiz like Groucho Marx and Liza Minelli.
Also Dali and David Niven were buddy buddy with Alice Cooper.
Colleges from the rock biz were friends with Cooper: Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon, John Bon Jovi, Steven Tyler from Aerosmith or Slash from Guns N' Roses - touring together with Alice.

"I kidded them and they kidded me, but this is just a part of the show. In our private lifes we talk about each others middle-of-the-road and they are all musicians and showpeople like me."
In addition he recorded his hit School's Out together with The A-Teens and he was enthused of them and their kind of making music.
No secret that Alice is still a big fan of The Rolling Stones. He visits every concert of them if possible and said that Mick Jagger is still one of his idols.
In the seventies Alice visits always concerts of The Three Degrees, which he liked very much and wouldn't miss a performance.
He liked Stockhausen and James Bond Themes and John Barry was his favourite, who make instrumental music.

In der Tat ist Alice Cooper einer der ganz großen Stars im Musikbusiness.
Seit nunmehr über 30 Jahren hält sich der Meister des Grusel Rock auf den Bühnen der Welt und hat mit all seinen Alben ein musikalisches Meisterwerk abgeliefert.
Schon Anfang der 70er ließ sich Cooper nicht zweimal bitten, an allem neuen mitzumachen, was sich technisch anbot.
So erschien das Album "Billion Dollar Babies" 1973 bereits als eines der wenigen Aufnahmen auch in Quattrophonie.
Cooper war derjenige, der fast alle Türen aufstieß, die heute als selbstverständlich gelten, es aber ohne ihn wahrscheinlich nicht wären oder erst sehr viel später geworden wären.
So produzierte er 1973 den sozusagen ersten Videoclip mit Elected, bei dem die Bilder nicht das Produzieren der Musik zeigten, sondern sich optisch mit anderen Dingen beschäftigten.
Ebenso war er der erste Musiker, der mit schockierenden Bühnenshows aufwartete und mit weiblichem Pseudonym, langen Haaren und schmucküberladen die latente Bisexualität dokumentierte.
Die ersten mehrstöckigen Bühnenaufbauten gehen wohl auch auf sein Konto, sowie die erste Lichtshow und sogar die erste Lasershow 1973 auf der Billion Dollar Babies Tour. Erst Anfang der 80er fingen andere Bands an, mit Lasertechnik ihre Bühnenshows aufzupeppen.
Alice Cooper war nach dem Lasershow-Special 1973 mit dieser Showeinlage wieder fertig. Einzig die Gigant Band Pink Floyd hatte 1978 bei der Tour "The Wall" eine Laser-Show mit bei den Specials.

Bei diesen Gelegenheiten machte Keanu Reeves als 13jähriger bereits mit einem netten und zu allerlei verrückten Späßen aufgelegten Alice Cooper Bekanntschaft. Cooper ging bei der Familie sozusagen ein und aus.
Frank Zappa, der Mentor von Alice Cooper nahm eine sonderbare Rolle ein. Cooper hält ihn noch heute für einen hervorragenden Gitarristen, vielleicht den besten, den es je gab.
Aber sonderlich gut haben sie sich angeblich nie verstanden. Cooper: "Wir sind meistens zu Frank gegangen, um ihm sein Bier wegzusaufen."
Cooper haßt Discomusik. Jedenfalls läßt er das auf der Bühne verlauten. So verkündete er seinem Publikum auch auf der Dragon Town Tour, daß er weder einen Robbie Williams, noch einen Justin Timberlake oder eine Britney Spears braucht. Das alles ist natürlich nur Show und er äußert sich ansonsten moderat über seine Kollegen: "Sie ziehen über mich her und ich über sie. Das gehört dazu, ist aber auf beiden Seiten nicht ernst gemeint. Wir sind alle professionelle Musiker und jeder macht eben sein Ding auf der Bühne. Das hat mit unserem Privatleben nichts zu tun." Außerdem nahm er mit den A-Teens seinen Hit "School's Out" auf und man verstand sich prächtig. Cooper:"Es sind tolle junge Leute und ich finde ihre Art Musik wirklich gut."
Kein Geheimnis auch, daß Alice immernoch gerne, so wie manch anderer, auf Rolling Stones Konzerte geht. Er liebt die Musik der Rock Veteranen und sagt über Mick Jagger, daß es eines seiner Vorbilder ist.
In den 70ern besuchte er jedes Konzert der Three Degrees, die er wirklich gerne hörte und kein Konzert verpassen wollte.
Neben Stockhausen oder James Bond Themen hörte Alice Cooper in den 70ern sehr gerne Film Musik.
Sein Favorit war dabei John Barry, der auch die Musik zu der Serie "Die Zwei" produziert hat.
Die großen Vorbilder von Alice Cooper waren musikalisch Elvis Presley und die Beatles.
In dem Film Roadie spielt sich Cooper selbst. Ein unterhaltsamer Streifen, bei dem auch andere Popstars wie Blondie (Debbie Harry), Meat Loaf und Roy Orbison mitspielten.
Auch in dem Film "Wayne's World" spielt sich Cooper 1992 selbst. Der Film stellte einen Rekord auf, da er nur 1 Millionen Dollar in der Produktion kostete, aber 8 Millionen Dollar einspielte.
